Abstract
What (eccentric) place is this, where the tree becomes the center—sparking thoughts, fabulations, and collective confabulations about other ways of inhabiting a world already marked and shaped by an unfolding environmental collapse? Faced with the Anthropocene and a human narcissism that insists on ignoring the planet’s warnings—driving humanity and life itself toward an unprecedented abyss—this essay seeks pathways of overcoming, calling upon epistemologies shared among all living beings. Inspired by Krenak, for whom “the future is ancestral,” the text revisits the millennia-old relationship between trees and humans, proposing the tree as an archetype of verticality and a key to a multispecies (cosmo)vision. Along this path, it engages with thinkers and authors of the so-called “vegetal turn,” for whom plants occupy the center of understanding who we are. The journey culminates in the call: EVENT, a movement of resistance and education, unfolding in two gatherings and a collective manifesto.
