Abstract

In this paper, we present an interview with Professor Doctor Vera de Mattos Machado, highlighting her remarkable journey in the teaching of natural sciences and biology. The interview, conducted as part of the Roda Sbenbio project, addresses the evolution of Vera's academic and professional career from her initial training to her significant contributions to teacher education. Discussing concepts such as didactic transposition and the anthropological theory of didactics, Vera shares insights on the implementation of curricular policies and the need for specific and differentiated didactic approaches in sciences. The dialogue reveals the complexity of educational challenges and the importance of reflective and locally adapted teacher education.
