Abstract

This work deals with a teaching sequence by investigation on the respiratory system using the Social and Emotional Learning-SEL methodology for Science teaching, with a view to presenting a teaching proposal that promotes the development of cognitive and socio-emotional skills. The teaching-learning process was based on Vygotsky's cultural-historical theory and on the methodological didactic field, teaching by investigation. This is a qualitative case study research, which included the participation of 11 teachers with a Master's degree in Science Teaching. The results showed the development of socio-emotional skills, in particular, self-management and self-management. The proposed activity proved to be a rich tool for teachers to expand their learning goals with students.
